Gavin and I finally got to climb. It was effort. We had to pack the babysitter and his 3 kids in the SUV and Gavin and a ton of kid stuff into his Dodge. And I followed this flotilla in my car. Nevertheless, about noon we said goodbye the kids and sitter at Snowshed and were free for the afternoon. We warmed up on Black September (9+), a fine hand crack on the Black Wall. Moving across the wall, we did a junk pitch in the Cannibals gully and found the start to Bourbon St. (10a), which the guidebook recommended. C.bly rock in the corner made for an exciting lead -- I would not recommend it. Now on Lizard Ledge, we rapped down 2 pitches to the start of Hung Over, Hang Over (10a). I experienced several humiliating hangs on the lead, felt like at least 10c. At least Gavin obliged by hanging a few time following. I continued up on Empty Sky (10a), the arete above. Clint had warned me about taking the right gear, so the run out above the last bolt was not so bad. Gavin followed slowly, unused to delicate climbing.
